Full Dentures
Full dentures, also called complete dentures, replace all of the teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. They rest on the gum tissue and are held in place by suction and, in some cases, a denture adhesive.
Conventional full dentures are placed after remaining teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed, which typically takes several weeks. During this healing period, the patient is without teeth.
Immediate dentures are another option. These are prepared in advance and placed immediately after tooth removal, so you are never without teeth while your gums heal.
